Léonie Guyer (b. 1955, New York, NY) makes paintings, drawings, site-based work, prints, and artist books. Her work is characterized by idiosyncratic shapes that are deployed in a variety of spaces. Selected solo exhibitions include: Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts, San Francisco, CA; Bibeau Krueger, New York, NY; Shaker Museum, New Lebanon, NY; lumber room, Portland, OR; Greg Kucera Gallery, Seattle, WA. Her work is held in public collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; Reed College Art Collection; Shaker Museum; UC Berkeley Museum and Pacific Film Archive; among others. She is a recipient of a 2024 John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship. Guyer lives and works in San Francisco, CA, and received her B.F.A. and M.F.A. from the San Francisco Art Institute.
