Vincent Como (b. 1975; lives and works in Brooklyn, NY) has been relentlessly exploring reduction and minimalia with an explicitly anti-color palette for over 25 years. He is represented by MINUS SPACE with whom he mounted the well-received exhibitions Paradise Lost, and the 20 year survey of his work on paper The Negative Approach Operating System (For Intermediate to Advanced Practitioners), among other projects. He enjoys the Ramones and Black Sabbath, Giallo films and cats.
Como’s work has been discussed in publications such as Art 21 Online Magazine, Two Coats of Paint, The Creator’s Project, New American Paintings, The Wall Street Journal, ArtSlant, Progress Report, WagMag, The Boston Phoenix, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Journal, and Salt Lake Tribune, among others. He is a founding member of Tiger Strikes Asteroid New York, an artist-run space in Bushwick, Brooklyn, with additional locations in Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Chicago and Greenville, SC. Como holds a BFA in Drawing from the Cleveland Institute of Art.
