This year's benefit auction and exhibition, "The World Is The Work", brings together artists, curators, and art lovers from The Drawing Center's community. Each guest curator will present a selection of five or more works on paper by artists they admire. Works will be on view at The Drawing Center from October 7 through October 11, and will be available for purchase through a silent auction benefiting The Drawing Center and participating artists. Bidding will begin on September 29 at 12:00 pm ET and end on October 14 at 12:00 pm ET. The Drawing Center rbrickman@drawingcenter.org

Michael Kennedy Costa (b. 1982, Northampton, MA) is an artist and poet who lives and works in Los Angeles.  Recent solo exhibitions include The Meeting, New York (2026); Local 1, Mexico City (2025); Gene's Dispensary, Los Angeles (2024);  Human Resources, Los Angeles (2023); and u's, Calgary (2019).  Recent group exhibitions include Third Born, Mexico City (2025); Gene's Dispensary, Los Angeles (2025); South Willard, Los Angeles (2025); Lo Brutto Stahl, Basel (2025); Leroy's, Los Angeles (2025); CAPC Musée d'art contemporain de Bordeaux (2024); Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art, Malibu (2024); Sarah Brook Gallery, Los Angeles (2024); Chez Max et Dorothea, Los Angeles (2024); Hunter Shaw Fine Art, Los Angeles (2022); Bel Ami, Los Angeles (2020); Simian, Copenhagen (2020); Franz Kaka, Toronto (2019); and Sydney Sydney, Sydney (2018).  His poetry has appeared in Zyzzyva magazine (no.131, 2025) and in Mirror Area, a collection published by Holoholo, Paris (2023).  Michael Kennedy Costa earned a BFA from Boston University in 2006 and an MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2011.
