Ana Tiscornia was born in Uruguay in 1951 and resides in New York since 1991. She is Emeritus Professor from SUNY College at Old Westbury. Her work has been subject of numerous exhibitions in the US and abroad in Latin America and Europe. She represented Uruguay in the II and IX Bienal de La Habana, Cuba, and in the III Bienal de Lima, Perú, and participated in the Bienal del Fin del Mundo, Mar del Plata, Argentina. Tiscornia was awarded the Premio Konex Mercosur in Argentina in 2022 and is also a recipient of a Fellowship from New York Foundation for the Arts, and a grant from Pollock-Krasner Foundation among other awards.
